Virtual In-School Playwriting Program
Sneak peek of YPT's new, virtual curriculum, Writers at Play
Writers at Play is a set of digital tools that educators and families can use to teach elementary, middle, and high school learners to write their own original plays. Built on YPT’s award-winning In-School Playwriting Program, Writers at Play features 8 high-quality instructional videos delivered over 12 guided workshops. Writers at Play will engage 3rd to 12th-grade learners as they realize the power of their own voices and write their own original plays. To increase access to Writers at Play, YPT is launching our new curriculum on the learning management platform, Thinkific, an easy-to-use online portal that includes a video player, downloadable resources, and more.
Writers at Play for Synchronous Learning
The Writers at Play Synchronous Learning Package is great for educators teaching classes or groups of students at one time.
Writers at Play for Asynchronous Learning
The Writers at Play Asynchronous Learning Package works well for educators who would like for students to be able to complete workshops and learning activities on their own time.
As an award-winning arts education company with a nationally recognized curriculum, YPT is dedicated to continuing to support young people, educators, and families through virtual learning opportunities throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. We spent the summer of 2020 outfitting the program space in our headquarters as a working video production studio to develop engaging instructional videos for virtual instruction. In Writers at Play, this new video series is paired with our signature playwriting resources and a newly developed teacher guide to help activate creativity and learning in virtual classrooms.
