2020-21 YPIP Schedule of Events

Monthly Script Advising

September 2020 - May 2021: Monthly script advising meetings with YPT Artistic Director Farah Lawal Harris. These 90-minute meetings involve extensive feedback on new writing, as well as support in script elements (i.e. plot, character development, dramatic structure, etc.); they will take place via video-conferencing. Writing and reading assignments to be given at the end of each script advising meeting to be completed by the next session.

Public Readings

At stages of the process, YPT will present the work of YPIP playwrights through a series of staged readings. These readings are free to the public with a reserved online ticket. They will be hosted on a live, online platform.

The first phase of readings took play February 2 - 4, 2021. Thank you to our community for watching the playwrights' plays-in-progress. The February readings and Q&A's are all available to stream on YPT's YouTube channel
