Casting Notice: Queer-Identified Performers for a Staged Reading on Sept. 11 (Paid)

Young Playwrights’ Theater (YPT) is holding a casting call for QUEER-IDENTIFIED actors to join our ensemble for our upcoming September 11th performance, Silence is Violence: LGBTQ+ You.


On September 11th at 7pm, Silence is Violence: LGBTQ+ You will transform the vibrant Blind Whino SW Arts Club into a mixed arts experience celebrating the spirit and perseverance of DC area LGBTQ+ youth and adults through their words, music, visual art, performance and fellowship.

Actors will rehearse and perform a staged reading of poems and monologues written by LGBTQ+ DC-area youth and adults. This is a paid opportunity.


  1. A non-white trans man

  2. A white (or white passing) non-binary person (masculine)

  3. A trans or cisgendered woman (any race)

  4. Two black trans or cisgendered women

Monday, September 11th @ 7pm (With a mandatory tech rehearsal from 2 - 6pm on that day) at Blind Whino SW Arts Club (700 Delaware Avenue SW, Washington, DC 20024).
