The Woodlawn Cemetery Project
Summer/Fall 2010

YPT is partnering with organizations east of the Anacostia river to explore the rich history and generate community dialogue around Woodlawn Cemetery. This historic cemetery, located in Ward 7, is the final resting place of more than 36,000 souls, many of whom played an important role in the shaping of our city and nation.  

 
Join us Saturday, September 11th for a volunteer clean up day at Woodlawn from 9 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with Greater DC Cares, featuring a preview reading of the play at noon!

Together these organizations will work with YPT to create an original play about Woodlawn Cemetery, to be shared in staged readings this fall.
 
This project is made possible through the generous support of the Schimel Lode and the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities.
